The official State of California Outdoor Play, The Ramona Pageant, America's oldest outdoor drama (over 75 years) is portrayed annually at the Ramona Bowl, a natural canyon.

Hemet will soon be home to the Eastside Reservoir, the largest lake in Southern California. Now under construction, the lake will feature over 260 billion gallons of water and 4,500 surface acres. The site will feature over 12,500 acres of recreation including the main lake, two 85-acre recreational lakes, golf, recreational vehicle and camping areas, event meadows, sports complex, convention center, equestrian center, boat launch ramps, marina with rental boats, hiking and bicycling trails, picnic areas, fishing, shopping/dining villages, scenic overlooks, wildlife viewing, ferry boats, hotels, rental cabins, water park, competitive swimming complex, and many other features. The region will be Southern California's premier outdoor recreation area.
